- These three models will at most support iOS 18 because they are equipped with the Apple A12 chip, but the lowest standard to support iOS 26 is equipped with the Apple A13 chip.

Accordingly, not all iPads support iPadOS 26 because of the chips. All iPads equipped with the A12 chip or higher or the M series chip support iPadOS 26.

There is only one iPad model that is dropped off by iPadOS 26 and will at most support iPadOS 18 because it is equipped with the Apple A10 chip, which can't support iPadOS 26.

Part 5. Should I Update to iOS 26 and iPadOS 26
Now we have learned about the iOS 26-supported device. However, deciding whether to upgrade to iOS 26 based solely on device compatibility feels a bit rushed. Even some old models support iOS 26, but they can't perform well because of inadequate RAM and SoC ability.
Therefore, we recommend all * marked models we listed formerly update to iOS 26 and enjoy full iOS 26 features like Apple Intelligence. Not * marked models won't support Apple Intelligence and some other functions.
