Got a new device and want to see your previous Google history?

Want to see what websites your children have been secretly browsing?

Here you’re in the right place!

This post will show you how to recover deleted Google history on Android in 4 possible ways, step by step! Read more!

Method 1: See Deleted Google History on Android via My Activity

This is the most reliable way to access your deleted history on Android. As long as you’ve signed in to your Google account and enabled the Web & App Activity option, all your activities on Google will be saved to the cloud. Therefore, even if you’ve deleted local browsing history, you can still see deleted Android Google history in My Activity.

Step 1. Open Google Chrome or any browser on your Android device.

Step 2. Head to https://myactivity.google.com.

Step 3. Sign in with your Google account, and you will see all activity records sorted by time, such as browsing history, search history, YouTube, etc.

Method 2: Recover Deleted History on Chrome Android Using Search History

One important thing you should know is that when you delete browsing history in Google Chrome on your Android device, it removes the local record of websites you visited. However, it doesn’t automatically delete your Google search history - the keywords you entered into Google Search because they are stored in your account’s Web & App Activity. Therefore, you can try to walk through the keywords you once entered and look for the corresponding results. Before that, please make sure Web & App Activity is enabled.

Step 1. Launch Google Chrome on your Android device.

Step 2. Click your profile.

Step 3. Select the Search history tab. Here, you will see what you’ve searched for before.

Method 3: Check Deleted History on Other Synced Devices

If you have signed into the same Google account on other devices, your Google history may temporarily still exist on those devices even if you delete browsing history on your Android device. However, the deletion operation will be quickly synced across all logged-in devices. Therefore, to recover any history this way, you must check the other devices immediately.

Step 1. Open Chrome on any device that you might have logged in to the same Google account.

Step 2. Check the History by hitting the three-dot button in the top right corner. You can also press Ctrl + H (Windows) or Cmd + Y (Mac) to view the Google history quickly.

Tips: If you have ever saved your browsing content as bookmarks, you can easily restore them by exporting Android Chrome bookmarks.

Method 4: Recover Deleted History on Android via Android Backup

If you’ve made an Android backup before you deleted the Google history, you can restore previously deleted browsing history using a backup. But make sure the backup contains Google Chrome data.

Step 1. Go to Settings - Google - Backup to check whether there is a corresponding backup.

Step 2. Go to Settings - System - Reset options - Erase All Data (Factory Data Reset) to factory reset your Android device.

Tips: Remember to separately back up any data created on your Android phone since the last backup. We recommend you use a dedicated Android backup tool like Apeaksoft Android Data Backup & Restore to selectively back up your Android data.

Step 3. Sign in to your Google account in the setup window, and choose to restore from the previous backup.
